Principles

I am reliably informed by myself that I did this in October 2011 while recovering from Great Ill, in between watching the entirety of Watership Down series 3 and Torchwood: Children of Earth. It seemed to be a good combination, because I still rather like the result! xD This is Liam on the right again, as seen here, only in part of his own backstory. His opponent is Raigan, a stallion about whom Liam tends to mutter unfavourably, and the scene is the very short, sharp end to quite a long friendship, set about 6 or 7 years prior to Liam's "present".

I had a very good time using my scribblywibbly brush for the lines and then doing the blood in black, and using screentones for the shading hatching and halftones for the colour transitions and the background. But basically it was mostly indulging my love of flinging my characters into fights.

I will also entirely admit to being inspired for years by fact that the old Watership Down movie wildly creeped me out as a child never shied away from blood in fights. ♥

There are of course errors, particularly in the leg/head area, being a bit old, but I still like it a lot. C: If it looks in any way not-sharp, click it, download it, do something. Them lines don't work blurry. D:
