Hey all! :D

I am indeed still of this world, just to keep you in the loop ;) I'm definitely improving health/energy-wise and moodwise, even though I've also been diagnosed with hypothyroidism! (Hashimoto's thyroiditis, which is possibly one of the nicest autoimmune disorders out there, if it can be called such a thing.) So I had basically cornered the market in "illnesses that make you tired and sad", which explains a few things. xD

I might try to just chuck up the last few arts from the last few years I've been AFK, rather than worrying about it, and try to make this lil place a nice spot for me to be again rather than stressful (my own doing lmfao) C:

If you're around, let me know how you've been! I can't promise lengthy and brainful replies, but I am interested! <3

*Pokes head out*

I'm really sorry I've dropped off-radar for a lot of people - I've been diagnosed with a fairly bad B12 deficiency (which has been going on for an unknown but likely large number of years, not to mention the depression, which it probably made worse), so I've been a bit like...well, imagine a piece of toast dropped butter-side-down on the floor. In fact I'm only managing to chuck this out here because thanks to far more injections than was originally predicted (and there will be many more), I've been feeling a bit more energetic in the past few days.

Investigations are ongoing, as is cake-eating and puppy-cuddling. Thankfully not getting those two mixed up. Love to everyone! ♥

Wow, heh, been a while since I updated my journal. A year and a half who said that. |D Basically, the plan didn't go to...well, plan, but the final goal's still the same. c: Things got a looot worse, but now they are getting (very) slowly but surely better; there's a whole world of crap to dig out, but luckily I have an industrial-grade digger. c: It's just very...tiring.

Also I'm a horrible hermit because this all makes it really difficult to have the energy to talk to people and then I feel guilty for not talking to people and this makes it more difficult to talk to them. *Breathe* SO I'M SORRY I HAVEN'T TALKED TO ANY OF YOU LOVELY PEOPLE. :cries: I STILL LOVE YOU ALL. But my brain does not love me - or if it does, it does so very briefly, which is not long enough to get anything done.

But I am actually going to upload some things. Shock, I know. Some old, some less old, some less old with new revisions? :'D

TL;DR: Depression was worsened by a bunch of shit, getting proper psychotherapy, on the mend, still very splatted. Art soon. Love you all. ♥

Life! Living! Things! Art!

A new name, a new home...and a stable full of new horses to meet.

Oh no wait, that's Black Beauty. Lemme start again. Gotta get that old journal off my front page.

I did change my username though, since I'd been meaning to since like forever. Thanks to my Big Stupid Name, it's strange enough that I've been mostly able to snag it across the board. C: I'll keep links and whatnot down in my ID, but for instance I now have a Tumblr, which is probably where I'll splat sketches and things. Also fantarding and reblogging of various levels of asininity, you have been warned. And I have been uploading things here, too. I did do art in my long absence, you see, though not very much and a lot of it was ponies. But due to some terrible combination of Stuff and Guilt, I never did anything with it here. But now, because I'm a massive, awful completionist I shall be gradually putting up the things that I still like despite their great age, then getting back to normal operations. Shocking, I know. c:

In terms of Life News, I'm now doing an extended diploma in Animal Management.

Yes, considering I did computer animation at uni it's a bit hoobadoobawhatnow. xD But there's a long story involving a fox, and I'm going to break my silly superstition about not talking about my hopes and say that hopefully when I've finished the two years I will have what's needed to apply to the RSPCA Inspectorate. Wish me luck. C:< So I guess that Black Beauty quote was more relevant than I thought.

And of course, as predicted, it's been a bit of a while since I last updated my journal. I could go all deep and whatnot, but these two comics sum things up quite accurately for something that can only ever be an approximation of a personal experience - and as anyone who also knows from their own personal experience will have had their own differences. Deep and unending thanks to everyone who saw my proverbial dead fish and still liked me. I cannot appreciate it enough. ♥ Of course elements of it survive, and nobody ever stays the same as they go through life in general, but I'm no longer There, which is obnoxiously and hysterically good.

Now, on a happier note, I fed five kittens milk from a syringe twice yesterday. Eeeeeeeee. ♥ What have you patient people all been up to? :3

Also here is an unrelated picture of squirrel babies.

A NEW JOURNAL WHAT IS THIS MADNESS

Journal Entry: Mon Feb 20, 2012, 2:57 PM
Hey everyone still here!

...*Crickets chirp*... xD

But no seriously, I am sorry, once again for disappearing on you all. I've let a lot of lovely people fall completely off-radar, and not just on dA. I won't really go into it, because it hasn't stopped, but essentially my plan to come home after uni, have a rest and regroup, then get a job, went wrong.

Like, laughably wrong. This pretty much sums it up.

And now I'm sort of gradually working the courage back up to talk to everybody again who I've neglected, only it's really not going well because I'm a giant moron. xD So here's a little shout out to everyone still around that I'm not dead, that I'm really sorry, and that I can't actually promise any sort of speedy return to normal apocalypsebunny operation like I have in the past (and failed to stick to anyway), but I'm working on it. And please don't think I'm fishing for anything at all - I quite literally just wanted to wave at you all and say where the buggery I'd been. xD

SO MUCH LOVE IN ONE WEEK. SO MUCH.

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 13, 2011, 3:14 PM
EDIT: Just saw X-Men again.

And I'm listening to the sub lift music and OH GOD THE AWESOME JUST KEEPS ON GOING OH GOD.
</EDIT>

With the AST exam and the accompanying 3 solid hours of writing about trivariate tensor product spline deformation volume chunk functions etc, skeleton systems and textures etc etc ad infinitum out of the way, it was TIME TO PARTY!

And so we played RobinF's Pokemon RPG for the evening. >3>

And then there were other days involving SHIRE HORSES, PONY RIDING and general awesome involving in no particular order quixoticheartsong, RobinF, RainbowFountains and Skylarkien. This also included X-Men: First Class. HOMG. I DON'T EVEN. HOW DO I. I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT. I went into the cinema, expecting a bit of fun but nothing special (I mean remember the trailer). AND THEN I SPECTACULARLY ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. The plot was not high-brow; never dreamed of that. BUT IT WAS GOOD. But it had to be said, it was more like OGLE XAVIER, OGLE MAGNETO, OGLE XAVIER AND MAGNETO OH MY GOD WILL THEY JUST BLOODY WELL KISS ALREADY, OGLE MYSTIQUE, OGLE EFFECTS oh yeah Cuban missile crisis, Cold War OGLE UNIFORMS huh, missiles OGLE OGLE OGLE.

If the actors themselves ship Xavier/Magneto, who am I to argue.

And now X-Training is my current overplay, along with Love, Love from the end credits. MY HEART. JEEZ. It is clearly about them. Expect fanart. I went looking for fanfic and thought there might be a comm by now, and then I found 2 comms, 2 kinkmemes, a Delicious archive, and about 4 tumblrs. I AM HAPPY. THANK YOU INTERNET.

And RobinF and I went and saw a production of Rosencranz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Fan-bloody-tastic, stupendous acting and gorgeous sets. Guildenstern was hilariously charismatic and Rosencranz was camper than a row of tents. The player was a genius. I'm glad I'd already seen the movie (directed by Tom Stoppard himself) and got all the "wtf is going on" out of the way then, so I could enjoy it to its fullest - and it was interesting to compare the portrayals. In the movie, R&G are very balanced: it might help that they have similar builds and heights - and Rosencranz is even a little larger visually despite having the less philosophical dialogue - but the delivery of the lines is much more equal back and forth. In the production we saw, it was quite biased towards Guildenstern being the thinker of high concepts and Rosencranz being more of a practical, less experienced man. It worked, but it was an interesting difference. >3> AND YES, MUCH SLASH. Expect fanart. Possibly in a barrel.

And there was the BACVA (uni) leaving do. SO MUCH FUN. Everyone was dressed up and looked fantabulous, there were helium balloons and much hilarious dancing, and many incriminating photos were taken by all.

And then we had a smaller leaving dinner (to which quixoticheartsong and I brought RobinF entirely unaware, and much trolling was done) at TGI Fridays, which was glorious.

And soon I shall actually have the time to answer the internet. Remember, this is making up for an entire year of not socialising. xD

So I would have had my big-ass I'M BACK journal a little earlier, except for the fact that my PSU decided to go to tard land and randomly cut out - more and more until it was turning off before boot had even got to "Windows didn't shut down properly, would you like it to start in cripple mode?". Buuuut thanks to a (wildly) early birthday present from :iconquixoticheartsong:/:iconvictoriousendeavours:, I'm back in business. As far as I can tell, anyway. xD The disadvantage is having a load to catch up on. The advantage is that EVERYTHING HAS UPDATED AND IT'S AWESOME.

But anyway! The last few months have had me entirely MIA on the internets, but not without good reason. If you recall a journal some time ago, I worked with RobinF and quixoticheartsong/VictoriousEndeavours on our major project for uni, in which we got permission from David Petersen to do something in the Mouse Guard world - and here's the fruits of that! 8D

Also check out RobinF's upload of it here! She got a DD on it :D

Annnnnnnd we also got featured on Comics Alliance, where they've linked to RobinF's upload. All in all pretty awesome response to a lot of work. c:

In other news, I got roped into playing in the NCCA football tournament at uni on the girls team. It was entirely unexpectedly awesome. 8D Our big burly programming demonstrator dude was our goalie and honorary girl.

Thanks to all for faves and comments on Mouse Guard and other things, and I shall be getting back to you soooon~ x3

...from innovations, so I shall inflict my boredom upon you IN THE FORM OF A REALLY KINDA ODD QUIZ. MUAHAHAHAHAH. MINE IS AN EVIL LAUGH. But yes anyway. I think quixoticheartsong via VictoriousEndeavours is to blame for this. Really I should comment on hers too. This is mostly here to stop the previous journal being obnoxious.

GO GO~

1) Full name?
Katya THREE NAMES GO IN THE MIDDLE HERE BECAUSE I AM THAT COOL Scott

2) Male/Female?
Are two options on a spectrum, ja.

3) Were you named after anyone?
Er...the entirety of Eastern Europe?

4) Does your name mean anything?
Pure/consecrated/holy *snickersnort*

5) Nickname(s)?
Kat, Katty...Kitty, if you're Martha. Otherwise we go into the realm of odd if we include family nicknames.

MANRY

7) Date of birth?
14th September 1989

8) Place of birth and current location?
Devon/Devon. Sometimes Dorset.

BRIIIIIITISH.

10) Astrology sign?
Technically since the signs changed, I'm a Leo (and obviously they've been like that since before I was born). But I was born a Virgo, and I've come to terms with it, so a Virgo I shall stay. xDDD It would be worse if I believed in any of that gumpf.

11) Chinese astrology sign?
Yin Earth Snake

To quote quixoticheartsong, depends on which stupid face I'm pulling at the time. x3

19) Any unusual talents?
I'm not actually bad at impressions of people. Sean Connery saying "shpliiiinesh" is a recent one. But my best impression is perhaps a dog bark.

20) Righty, lefty, or ambidextrous?
Righty. Gonna live longer and not arm-wrestle polar bears.

21) Gay, straight, bi, or other?
Bi, but there's more numbers and annoyance to it than that. I'm not really exciting enough for other.

22) What do you do for a living?
Librarian when I'm home, student when I'm not. x3

23) What do you do for fun?
Draw, ride, make little silly stories in my head, collect useless information, make things...

0.5 HB mechanical pencil, 0.05-0.8 unipin pens, sharpie/giantblackmarkers, markers (letraset, tria, copic, kurecolor), white gel pen, PS, watercolour and acrylic if I'm feeling traditional, karismacolour pencils...

41) An illness?
Various bits of my body keep deserving to be cut off, I suppose. |: And, anyone spare me ears...or hips?

42) A pager?
Not a doctor.

43) A personal phone line?
Is what those of us without secretaries call a mobile phone.

44) A cell phone?
One that's getting old these days and keeps having small seizures and dropping signal. xD

My mum's brick white golf. ^^

48) Personality?
I seem to have a lot of force of one.

Is necessary when you come from "a village in the middle of nowhere with a travel curse on it", to paraphrase a friend. xD Every now and then I remind myself that I'm in control of a lethal weapon and get weirded out. But I really quite like driving my friends around. <3

50) Your clothing style?

They do that anyway.

62) Pray?
Not unless I were in a foxhole, and I don't know if I would bother even then. I might hope.

63) Believe in reincarnation?
I joke about it; that's not the same. Is it somehow less to reckon that every living being is new and unique?

64) Brush your teeth twice a day?
OH GOOD GOD YES. Can't stand going to bed without brushing, even if it's inconvenient.

65) Like to talk on the phone?
Eeeergh, no. Can't see no lips.

Good grief no.

69) Sing in the car?

70) What is a dream that you have all the time?
*ZZZZZZZZ~*

71) Dream in colour?

So I got up this morning after having stayed up too late making tree matte paintings for this year's group project and, still clutching my hippo hot water bottle, Checked The Internet. Apparently at some point between 3am last night and 10am this morning I'd been Daily Deviationed. xD Specifically my group project from last year:

Thanks to x-xSpitFirex-x and ArtisnotanAccident for the feature! My reaction was pretty much like this:

Now, I won't go into my opinion of the current (and previous, to a lesser extent) DD system, because that would be graceless and tactless. It hasn't changed, but anyway. It was very nice to get what is essentially a big thumbs up from dA, and I'll forward all the praise to my group members from last year because they certainly deserve it. :3

As for this year, stuff! Back at uni obviously, 3rd year, lots of work, lalala. Working (and again living) with RobinF and quixoticheartsong on the major project. We have a production BLORRRG! It's here at Mouse Guard Animation. We're essentially doing a whole animation based on David Petersen's Mouse Guard comics, entirely with his permission. o3o Hopefully it'll be f'ng awesome. I'll upload the concept art I've done for it here at some point soon.
Also in the house this year are Lilithgow, bellsab and nominally darkbuu-1, TWO ADORABLE DOGS (Apollo, white retriever and Anubis, Northern Inuit X GSD) and TWO ADORABLE MICE (Sadie, brown and Gwendolyn, white, totally not named after Mouse Guard characters honest >3>). It's messier than last year, but FETH YEAH.

Romania! (BRASOV AND SIGHISOARA EDIT)

Journal Entry: Sat Sep 4, 2010, 2:32 PM

YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

...I'm going there, with RobinF, my friend from home and her friend from uni. :D On Wednesday, so don't expect too much activity until after the 13th of September. Not that there's much activity here anyway. >.> I'll complete the features journal some time when I get back. xD

So, places we'll be covering:
Bucharest
Brasov
Sighisoara
Sibiu
Constanta (and Doi Mai c: )
Tulcea

Expect us to be geeking out the entire way.

So for now, la revedere! :w00t:

EDIT: FUCK I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP GODDAMNIT I NEED TO GET UP EARLY TO GET STUFF DONE. CRAP.

26/08/10: Bucharest!
Bucharest is awesome. And like, really hot. :| 35 degrees yesterday and today. We have siesta'd, gawped at popopopopoporolui, walked further than we intended, spoken REALLY bad Romanian, and acquired quite a lot of free fruit. That is to say: we have wandered around yelling "DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH" and "THANK YOU" to help Harriet pronounce them, and we got free apples by being Nice Young Ladies who could say "four" and "south". And a free bundle of carrots extra and an extra pepper. The metros are awesome and enormous and really smooth, and the unirii fountains are fab on the feet. Brasov tomorrow! :D

04/09/10: Technically Sibiu!
But I shall tell you about Brasov and Sighisoara.
BRASOOOOOOOOOOOVBRASOVBRASOVBRASOV technically that s should have a squiggly under it BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT. It's pronounced Brash-ov, unless you're Harriet, in which case it's Bras-off, but her capital of Romania is Bura-chest, so don't take her word for it. x3 IT'S AWESOME. The food is all amazing and there's a little café that does the most wonderous cocktails (alcoholic and non) and hot chocs (also) and fabulous cheap pizza. And there was a place that did sundaes with surprise!booze. BUT ALSO we wandered around the mountain in blazing sunshine, loled at the huge Hollywood style sign (then found out it may have been installed to distract from the giant STALIN inscribed in trees), gawped at the view, etcetc. And we went to the hyowge gothic church, listened to an organ recital, went to the white (crap) and black (fab view) towers, went on a day trip to Rasnov (awesome and ruiny), Bran (uncastley and homely) and Peles (WHAT WHAT VISUAL DIABETES WHAT), visited a bunch of cemeteries, DID NOT GET RUN OVER YAY, and ate our own body weights in kurtoskalacs (totally discovered in Hungary last year, but found them ALL OVER THE PLACE IN ROMANIA AND DID NOT REALISE THEY WERE INVENTED IN TRANSYLVANA BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH).

SIGHISOARA HELL YEEEEEEEEAH. Absolutely beautiful citadel. Romped around it then went back at sunset to sneak around the alleys and follow the wall and climb into a hole in a tower. 8D And there was a church on a hill and a F'NG HUGE CEMETERY. LIKE HUGE. Stretched from inside the citadel out beyond the wall and right down the hill. And then later on there was Vlad Tepes's actual house, which had been turned into a TERRIBLE restaurant, which we just had to risk. It was HILARIOUSLY bad. I had a Dracula Iced Tea, which was probably the safest of the Vlad-named things, and a wiener schnitzel, which was okay, but better than a lump of reheated pork with a piece of bread underneath it to like...plump it up or something. We don't even know. OH and there was fantastic hilarious tourist tat. Truly glorious.
AND THEN RobinF AND I WENT RIDING IN FETHING TRANSYLVANIA YEEEEEEEEEEAH. SCENERY WIN. I had some sort of fantastic Romanian sports horse/ spanish something cross called Andaluz, and after the initial laze, he was fansmeggingtastic. Lovely thick crest and high-stepping trot, and a really solid canter. And really responsive.

SIBIU we've only been in an evening, but OH DEAR GOD already had the best and cheapest mixed grill of my life, my god. I may not eat for another week.

O O O O O O O O O O

So I was meant to do this a while ago but I kept forgetting xD Got featured in QuiltedPanda's journal!

For each of the 10 first people (within reason) answering this journal I will put their avatar and the three deviations (or more) I like most from their gallery on the list.

If you answer, you'll have to do the same in your journal, putting me on the first place, completing the list with 9 other people. The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone. Just enjoy! I'll write what I like about your work and style. If you're offering Commissions let me know! Mookie's art...I cannot begin to say how much I am constantly in awe of how perfectly she draws. Her anatomy is always spot-on, her lineart is gorgeous and her colouring is exquisite. And of course she is aware of none of this and will insist that x number of other people are better than her in all of these areas and more. xD To top it all off she's a wonderful person, and though I never saw her as much as others (particularly now :() I count her as a good friend.

Easter!

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 3, 2010, 9:24 AM

Back home for three weeks or so now. :3 Sunny Devon has already rained on me and cut my hands (blame the computer), but it's awesome. Birds making a racket, smashing pottery, gloriously odd family, it's all fab. As usual, there's no real news. xD I have to do my compositing project and poke specialist and programming while I'm home, and finish a bunch of things in my giant wips folder. I have a backlog of 12 images in my uploads folder too, which will be got to as soon as I can be arsed to write them up properly. x3 I'm gonna try and get in touch will all the dA people I've neglected over the past two years of uni, because I really miss talking to y'all D:

Did I mention that I went to see Rammstein a couple of months ago with a friend and RobinF? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHMYGODFUCKYES. 11 FOOT METAL WINGS ON FIRE AND MORE FIRE AND ROCKETS AND FIRE AND SO MUCH PRESENCE AND FIRE AND A PENIS CANNON AND FIRE AND FOAM AND FIRE AND YO DAWG WE HEARD YOU LIKE FIRE SO WE PUT FIRE ON YOUR FIRE SO YOU CAN BURN THINGS WHILE YOU BURN THINGS.

It was pretty awesome.

So yah, life is good. There's shit to get done, but I get to see my home!peeps and the related nutters, and some of the shit I need to get done is fun. :3

Apocalypsebunny out. :nana:

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 19, 2010, 9:31 AM

Population: Do zombies count?

So you join me in the uni studios as we try to render our group project scenes. As per normal, 9am - 4pm is probably the least populated time as we all start doing renders overnight and then fething our respective sleep patterns right up. xD

You may remember my group project's animatic:

It actually had music for it ages ago, but I never uploaded that version. >3> I'll do that soon, and then upload the final. Things were going wrong with the batch render, but we've changed things and drives and hopefully it's going to work. Now I shall upload some pokemon, because they have been sitting around all this time, and get back to commenting you all soon. I got my deviations down from about 3,800 to about 900, which is very nice xD And I cleared my 400+ messages, so I shan't be avoiding them any more. I'm probably going to stop answering faves (I already don't answer ones on my stamps or my fateful digimon images ) because...they're just not personal. x( It's easy to click a button, not so easy (and much more appreciated) to actually tell me why. Obviously I'm still answering all my comments. x3

EDIT: Oh dear jesus christ on a bike my hips hurt. Lamely enough this is from wheeling around backwards at top speed checking studio computers constantly. Also, blank black eyes are the creepiest renders ever.

EDIT THE SECOND: We rendered in the wrong aspect ratio. Our buzz is officially killed. We shall render one in the wrong one to hand in and one in the right one to look pretty on our showreels.

EDIT THE THIRD: IT LOOKS SO SEXY WITH AMBIENT OCCLUSION OHMYGOD. FFFFFFFFFFFF. |D Buzz officially back.

EDIT THE HANDIN NIGHT BEFORE: When this is handed in on Friday I will be so damn happy. Doing the writeup (boring) and the peer review (f'ng terrifying) while compositing and shit is happening, and happier than I was this morning. >_> Mostly due to a smoothie, a coffee cupcake and a sudden dose of oh dear god I just don't care any more. Do not mention chill pills, they were never needed and have not been taken. :| Am looking forward to nachos and movies and pancakes and werewolf over the weekend, and though I shall miss the wheely chairs, I shall not miss FECKING RENDERS. Shall upload some things that are sitting in my art folder. x) Bonus fact: my thumb is less numb now, this is a good sign.

EDIT THE HANDIN: Jesus christ I'm glad that's over.

0815: Alarm starts going off
0840: Actually get up
0920: To uni! Deserted.
0940: FFFFFFFFFF why isn't handin working
0950: Handin
1000: Wonder when Meera's coming in
1030: Wake up on studio sofa and wonder why Meera and Flav aren't in
1100: Wake up on studio sofa and open blinds and stumble across RobinF
1110: Why is it snowing?
1120: THE TEEEEAM, IT'S HERE. Or, part thereof.
1150: ANIMATION HANDIN YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH
1230: Acquire pain au chocolat and exeunt animators.

And then there was acquiring of food and awesome books, and a pancake was consumed at some point. And then there was epic relaxing, and there still is. Excuse me while I doss. In my dossing socks. And dossing slippers. And dossing jumper. AND MY HIPPO HOT WATER BOTTLE THAT IS STILL WARM FROM WHEN I WENT TO BED AT LIKE 5AM.

I shall upload the final when I get my grubby mitts on a copy. :3

Not art, as you might expect. Though there are probably more than ten things ready to be uploaded. I need to answer all you guys' lovely comments first. :3

Anyway, I got tagged by :iconrobinf: like, ages ago.

1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
3. (((At the end, you have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.) I don't wanna tag ten. Not that many people would respond.) I'm not tagging 10 either.. >:[ ) The refusal grows!
4. (Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.) Too lazy.
5. No tag-backs.

--

  1. Shakespeare evenings > going out. I'm sorry but it's true. x3
  2. I much prefer cold weather to hot. If it's too cold you can always put more clothes on.
  3. I'm really good at washing up, but my cooking is about limited to pasta.
  4. My hair goes fluffy at the first hint of atmospherical moisture, and I go spazzy about it. That said, I don't have many bodily neuroses at all. Mostly I just find it funny.
  5. I overplay music so badly when I discover something new and awesome. Often it is lame.
  6. I'm one of those stereotypical people who plays with their scars. I have one that fills the width of between my first and second knuckles on my right hand, made in 6th form when my folder-holding hand had a close encounter with a rough brick wall, and it's so bumpy that I always fiddle with it.
  7. Mispronunciation of foreign words makes me rage, degree of rage dependant on how much I can pronounce it myself. Possibly slightly hypocritical, but oi. For example: I can't listen to "Wunderkind" by Alanis Morissette, because IT IS NOT PRONOUNCED "WONDER-KIND" LIKE THE TWO ENGLISH WORDS. Yet...I can forgive any Hungarian mispronunciation because holy hell.
  8. I used a cheapo "XP-Pen" graphics tablet for about 6-7 years before I got my Wacom Intuos4. It was fine. :3 The reason I got a replacement was that it developed an odd "speedbump" about halfway across that pretty much only let me draw in the left-hand side. Also, I swear the drivers never got updates since 2003.
  9. My favourite musical artist is Dino Merlin, a Bosnian with a 27+ year career who I have listened to (thanks Dad) since I was born. Aside from the fact that I adore his music, the fact that he stuck around during the war when so many other singers got out is just unbelievably inspiring. I realise I sound odd, when I haven't an iota of Balkan in me, but I don't care. |D If I ever saw him in concert--- aaaaaaauughhhhh. Ispocetka gives me the shiveries. x3
  10. I sleep with a stuffed shire horse I got at the shire horse centre in about year 5 or so. He's called Forrester :3

Must I tag? >.>

As RobinF quite rightly pointed out, that was a bit whingey. xP But this is all academic, because I HAVE A DESK. Wonderously lent by a friend who actually found it too big, and gloriously carried up the stairs by a team of Nice Strong Young Men.

IT'S AWESOME. It's giant and oak and even has room for my GIGANTIC CRT monitor.

UNLIMITED

quixoticheartsong fixed my bed and organised this epic desk, what an absolute star.

There are still randomshit nails in my walls, but two are supporting my GIGANTIC PRUSSIAN FLAG and one is supporting futuret's painting. <3 So they can't be all that bad.

So er. Just the rest to sort. |D

No that title is not a half-assed pun on our street name, of course not.

So I've moved into the new house! It's pretty cool but damn, it still needs a lot of work. The landlord's gonna get a proverbial whupping when we get his arse. The others have been here longer and have sorted out their rooms more, and perhaps it's natural self-concern, but I think my room's worst off. Namely:

I don't have a desk.

Limited LOL

I really, really need one. I've been using this cushion since last night (thanks quixoticheartsong, cushion queen x)), but my hips are starting to ache and, well, I use a computer a lot for both leisure and uni work. And it'd be nice to have a surface to draw on. At least my compy's not as big as RobinF's, otherwise I might have to find industrial-strength steel scaffolding to put it on. xP

Also, going to get a wireless card tomorrow, because two 30ft cables going from my and RobinF's rooms down the stairs to the router...isn't exactly ideal.

Among other things:
  • Many of my bed's slats are broken on one side, so I can only sleep on the other side of it unless I want to end up with my hips on the floor. The mattress is also kinda crap - liveable, but you can often feel the springs.

  • I have no carpet, and the wooden boards are floorboards, not wooden flooring, there being a distinct difference involving gaps and a small hole next to the bed. Mum and I got a rug in the B&Q clearance, and it's doing a good job, but I need a carpet.

  • Why are there random nails in my walls? There was a screw sticking most of the way out of my "fireplace". That was weird.

  • My venetian blinds: one is fine. One can only go one way out, and unfortunately that's the way with the gaps angling towards the road outside. One is Totally FUBAR. All are faintly sparkly gold. O.o

  • The wardrobe drawers are fethed at the back, but I don't seem to be spilling pants, so I can survive that for a while. xD

  • ...I forgot to buy tuna. ;___;

So. Adjusting. x)
