YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

...I'm going there, with RobinF, my friend from home and her friend from uni. :D On Wednesday, so don't expect too much activity until after the 13th of September. Not that there's much activity here anyway. >.> I'll complete the features journal some time when I get back. xD

So, places we'll be covering:
Bucharest
Brasov
Sighisoara
Sibiu
Constanta (and Doi Mai c: )
Tulcea

Expect us to be geeking out the entire way.

So for now, la revedere! :w00t:

EDIT: FUCK I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP GODDAMNIT I NEED TO GET UP EARLY TO GET STUFF DONE. CRAP.

26/08/10: Bucharest!
Bucharest is awesome. And like, really hot. :| 35 degrees yesterday and today. We have siesta'd, gawped at popopopopoporolui, walked further than we intended, spoken REALLY bad Romanian, and acquired quite a lot of free fruit. That is to say: we have wandered around yelling "DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH" and "THANK YOU" to help Harriet pronounce them, and we got free apples by being Nice Young Ladies who could say "four" and "south". And a free bundle of carrots extra and an extra pepper. The metros are awesome and enormous and really smooth, and the unirii fountains are fab on the feet. Brasov tomorrow! :D

04/09/10: Technically Sibiu!
But I shall tell you about Brasov and Sighisoara.
BRASOOOOOOOOOOOVBRASOVBRASOVBRASOV technically that s should have a squiggly under it BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT. It's pronounced Brash-ov, unless you're Harriet, in which case it's Bras-off, but her capital of Romania is Bura-chest, so don't take her word for it. x3 IT'S AWESOME. The food is all amazing and there's a little café that does the most wonderous cocktails (alcoholic and non) and hot chocs (also) and fabulous cheap pizza. And there was a place that did sundaes with surprise!booze. BUT ALSO we wandered around the mountain in blazing sunshine, loled at the huge Hollywood style sign (then found out it may have been installed to distract from the giant STALIN inscribed in trees), gawped at the view, etcetc. And we went to the hyowge gothic church, listened to an organ recital, went to the white (crap) and black (fab view) towers, went on a day trip to Rasnov (awesome and ruiny), Bran (uncastley and homely) and Peles (WHAT WHAT VISUAL DIABETES WHAT), visited a bunch of cemeteries, DID NOT GET RUN OVER YAY, and ate our own body weights in kurtoskalacs (totally discovered in Hungary last year, but found them ALL OVER THE PLACE IN ROMANIA AND DID NOT REALISE THEY WERE INVENTED IN TRANSYLVANA BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH).

SIGHISOARA HELL YEEEEEEEEAH. Absolutely beautiful citadel. Romped around it then went back at sunset to sneak around the alleys and follow the wall and climb into a hole in a tower. 8D And there was a church on a hill and a F'NG HUGE CEMETERY. LIKE HUGE. Stretched from inside the citadel out beyond the wall and right down the hill. And then later on there was Vlad Tepes's actual house, which had been turned into a TERRIBLE restaurant, which we just had to risk. It was HILARIOUSLY bad. I had a Dracula Iced Tea, which was probably the safest of the Vlad-named things, and a wiener schnitzel, which was okay, but better than a lump of reheated pork with a piece of bread underneath it to like...plump it up or something. We don't even know. OH and there was fantastic hilarious tourist tat. Truly glorious.
AND THEN RobinF AND I WENT RIDING IN FETHING TRANSYLVANIA YEEEEEEEEEEAH. SCENERY WIN. I had some sort of fantastic Romanian sports horse/ spanish something cross called Andaluz, and after the initial laze, he was fansmeggingtastic. Lovely thick crest and high-stepping trot, and a really solid canter. And really responsive.

SIBIU we've only been in an evening, but OH DEAR GOD already had the best and cheapest mixed grill of my life, my god. I may not eat for another week.

O O O O O O O O O O

Uhm....we got a postcard yesterday morning through the letter box.
And baby puppy was up before everyone else....
And decided it was part of his dietary requirements >.<...
I'm really sorry, it was so badly ravaged I couldnt figure out where it was from or who it was for.

Puppy was scolded.
